Recipe of Red Kidney Bean Soup- Rachana Nagrani


one cup red kidney beans soaked overnight and pressure cooked
yellow bell pepper- half ( sliced)
green bell pepper – half (sliced)
french beans – thinly chopped
one big onion – sliced
one small carrot roundly sliced
cabbage – one cup
6 cloves of garlic finely chopped
shredded ginger -1 inch piece
one big tomato – boil the tomato, after it cools down blend it by adding a glass of water and strain it and keep aside.
Oil -2 spoons
Salt to taste
Heat two spoons of oil or butter in a pan, add sliced onions. Don’t allow the onion to turn brown, cook till its transparent . Add chopped garlic, stir properly. Now add thinly chopped french beans, cabbage , carrot and bell peppers. Add shredded ginger, salt, black pepper powder and cook for 5 minutes. Now add the tomato water that we made earlier. Add red kidney beans and some water to adjust the consistency of soup. one can add cornstarch to thicken the soup. I didnt add cornstarch, infact i made a paste of rajma and added to the soup to thicken it.To make it more spicey , you can add red chilli powder or chilli sauce. Add salt as per your taste.
